Welcome to the Colchester Hockey Club website.
We are the premier field hockey club in north Essex, with five men's teams, three ladies' teams, vets' teams and a junior section.
The Colchester Hockey Club welcomes new members of all ages and standards. If you are thinking of joining, we encourage you to come along to one of our training sessions or to one of the pre-season selection days in early September. The league season begins in late September but new members can join throughout the season.
In 2007-08, we celebrated our centenary season. There were various events throughout the season to commemorate this milestone, as well as our usual social activities.
Latest news
25 June 2008: There will be three Core Skills Workshops which will be taking place across the East Region later this year. These workshops are a great opportunity to be updated on the technical skills of hockey and they will be led by England Hockey Centrally Contracted Coaches. 19 June 2008: The agenda for the 2007-08 AGM can be viewed in the Administration minutes page. A copy of last season's AGM is also available on the same page.
Summer fitness training time! Please note it is now being held on Wednesdays from 7pm. The ladies' have organised this to make sure they are match fit for the new season. Men - you are welcome to come along, too, and train.
30 May 2008: CHANGE OF DATE: the AGM will now take place Thursday 10 July 2008, starting at 7:30 pm at the clubhouse, followed by presentation of awards. Rosemary Prince and Gordon How are stepping down as Secretary and Fixture Secretary respectively. If you wish to stand for any position, or have an item you wish to include on the agenda, please notify Rosemary Prince at least seven days before the AGM. A proposed agenda will be posted on the website soon.
The website has been slightly modified, with the Juniors having their own section on the navigation sidebar. There are photos from their events available to view now.
