Hancock and Evans Cup

Andy Bryant (Colchester Men’s 3rds) has recently returned from representing the Ministry of Defence national hockey team as Civil Service champions and winners of the annual competition, Hancock and Evans Cup.

Playing against other Government departments including the Home Office, Revenue and Customs, and DEFRA, this year’s competition was based at National League Beeston Hockey Club in Nottingham.

Andy played in his usual striker’s role and scored in both group and knock-out stages of the competition, including the Final and Semi-final.

The Representative side is selected from MOD civil servants (not military) from all over the UK and Andy has represented the MOD since the 1994/5 season, accruing three winners medals and several runners-up medals over the past sixteen seasons. He has also represented the MOD’s mixed team over the past three seasons.
